Learning from Stories
People learn best from stories. For thousands of years, parables have been proven to be more effective than PowerPoints. Clear Law Institute’s online sexual harassment and workplace harassment training course shares dozens of nuanced scenarios from real-life cases. After each scenario, the learner answers a question and then receives feedback. Watch a sample by clicking on the image.
Instead of preaching to employees and supervisors with an over-simplified list of “do’s” and “don’ts,” Clear Law Institute’s online sexual harassment training uses “gray area” situations to explore the nuances of harassment that people may face in real life at their workplace. Click on the image to watch a sample to see how a decision to report or not report harassing behavior can impact others.
Learners Cannot Fail
Clear Law Institute’s online sexual harassment and workplace harassment training course makes certain that every employee and supervisor will master the course content—without allowing anyone to fail. To complete the course, learners must complete the Harassment Pyramid. Each pyramid cell represents a major principle taught in the online course. If the learner misses the first question in a cell, the course explains the correct answer through feedback and then provides another question on the same topic for the learner to try again. The course cannot be completed before a question in each cell is answered correctly.

Covers All Forms of Sexual Harassment and Workplace Harassment, Bullying, and Bystander Intervention
Clear Law Institute follows the EEOC guidelines and court decisions to ensure our online training course covers not just sexual harassment, but all forms of workplace harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
As required by some states’ laws, such as New York, our relevant course versions also address topics such as workplace bullying and bystander intervention. We can also cover topics such as unconscious bias.
What is Not Harassment
Clear Law Institute’s online course teaches employees and supervisors not only what is harassment, but also what is not harassment. This teaching helps ensure that your employees are less likely to file harassment complaints about conduct that is not, in fact, sexual or workplace harassment.
Clear Law Institute’s online course addresses new topics relating to today’s workplace harassment, including sexual harassment. For example, the course addresses how the misuse of social media and mobile devices can contribute to a hostile work environment.
Required Legal Expertise for Training
State laws and court decisions from around the country require employers to ensure that their harassment training is developed and delivered by legal experts. For example, California’s mandatory sexual harassment training law (AB 1825) specifically requires that trainers must have “expertise in the prevention of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.” The trainer must be an attorney, professor, instructor, human resource professional, or harassment prevention consultant with at least two years of expertise in employment law or harassment prevention.
Clear Law Institute’s in-house legal expertise ensures that the course is legally accurate and up-to-date with new changes in the law. Our CEO, Michael Johnson, is one of the leading experts in harassment law in the country. A former U.S. Department of Justice attorney and a graduate of Harvard Law School, Mr. Johnson brought one of the DOJ’s first class-action style sexual harassment lawsuits forward. He has trained The United Nations on their harassment policy, and his online and in-person harassment courses have been used by more than 1.5 million people.
Providing Legal Updates at No Cost
Unlike most harassment course providers, Clear Law Institute has in-house legal expertise to ensure that its course is kept up to date with new changes in the law. If the law changes so as to change the course instruction, Clear Law Institute will update your course immediately at no cost to make certain your organization is protected. We have updated our training several times in the last three years for customers because of changes in various state laws.
50-State Compliant, Including New York
Clear Law Institute’s online sexual harassment and workplace harassment course covers, not just federal law, but also state laws. Our New York-compliant courses adhere to the 2018 New York State sexual harassment prevention law and the 2018 New York City “Stop Sexual Harassment in NYC Act.”
Our Advanced Supervisor course includes specific instruction required by Connecticut law and California’s AB 1825 sexual harassment training law, California’s AB 2053 anti-bullying training law, and California’s SB 396 gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation harassment training law.
Train on Multiple Devices
You can start our online course on one device and then finish the course on another device, at another time. You don’t have to complete our course in one sitting and can learn at your own pace. If you exit the course, your progress will be saved and you can resume again from where you left off when you are ready.
Easy to Roll Out
We make delivering the course to your employees effortless so they can quickly begin their training. We will either: (1) Notify your employees of the need to take the course and send you periodic reports on who has completed the course, (2) Train you in 10 minutes to administer our robust, but user-friendly Learning Management System (“LMS”), or (3) Load the course onto your LMS and fully test it to ensure there are no problems. We ensure rolling out the course to your organization is quick and easy, and guide you each step of the way.
Customer Support Free of Charge
You should not have to become a computer support specialist to roll out an online harassment course for your employees. Unlike many online course providers, Clear Law Institute provides technical support to your employees at no additional cost. If any of your employees or supervisors have a problem with the course, they can call us, not you. We will quickly answer all of your organization’s technical questions for you.
Customized Options Available
Clear Law Institute can customize our online harassment training course specially for your organization. We can include your organization’s logo, relevant company policies, workplace images, and an introductory message from a senior official in your organization so learners feel as if the course was made for them.
Policy Review & Acknowledgement
Employees and supervisors can be required to certify that they have read and understood your organization’s harassment policy, which is included in the course. Clear Law Institute can include a “Policy Review” exercise where users are required to search your policies to find the answers to questions relating to your policies in your workplace.
Advanced Customizations Available
