Kai Haakon E. Liekefett is a Partner at Vinson & Elkins LLP and the Head of the firm’s Shareholder Activism Response Team. V&E was ranked No. 1 globally among law firms for legal defense of public companies against activist shareholders in the Thomson Reuters Global Shareholder Activism Scorecard for the first half of 2016. Mr. Liekefett has over 15 years of experience practicing law in New York, Houston, London, Germany, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Mr. Liekefett regularly advises clients on proxy contests and shareholder activism campaigns. He also represents companies and financial advisors in public company mergers & acquisitions, with a special focus on hostile M&A transactions. Mr. Liekefett is a graduate of Columbia Law School.
