Are you tired of trying to manage your large spreadsheets? If so, this practical webinar led by Excel expert, David Ringstrom, CPA, is just what you need. You will learn multiple ways you can tame cumbersome spreadsheets with confidence. You will learn techniques and keyboard shortcuts that enable you to gain control over unwieldy workbooks, save time, avoid repetitive tasks, improve the integrity of your spreadsheets, and more.
You will see each technique demonstrated at least twice: first, on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and second, in the subscription-based Office 365 version of Excel. David draws your attention to any differences in the older versions of Excel (2019, 2016, 2013, and earlier) during the presentation, as well as in his detailed handouts. You will also receive an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples used during the webcast.
Office 365 is a subscription-based product that provides new-feature updates as often as monthly. Conversely, the perpetual licensed versions of Excel have feature sets that don’t change. Perpetual licensed versions have year numbers, such as Excel 2019, Excel 2016, and so on.
You will learn how to:
- Discover resources for making unwieldly spreadsheets calculate faster.
- Use the SUM function to drill through two or more worksheets.
- Utilize the New Window and Arrange Windows commands to view two different worksheets simultaneously.
- Use the Group command to interactively hide/unhide columns (and/or rows) within Excel worksheets.
- Minimize the file size of large workbooks by way of the Excel Binary Workbook format.
- Use a single line of programming code to unhide all worksheets within a workbook.
- Utilize the Split Worksheet feature properly to lock certain rows at the bottom of the Excel window.
- Restore “classic” Print Preview functionality in Excel 2010 and later.
- Create custom views that will enable you to unhide all worksheets in a workbook at once as well as hide/display selected worksheets.
- Hide multiple worksheets within a workbook at once.
- Use Excel’s Freeze Panes feature.
- Utilize the New Window and Arrange Windows commands to view two different worksheets simultaneously.
Upon course completion, you will be able to:
- Recall the menu where the Watch Window feature resides in Excel.
- State which menu contains the New Window command in Excel.
- Recall the mouse action that allows you to expand or collapse the Ribbon in Excel.
