What is a webinar?
A webinar is simply a seminar that you attend online. You either watch a live video feed of the speaker or listen to the speaker through your computer, tablet or phone’s audio. You see the speaker’s slides, videos, and other presentation materials on your screen.
Can I ask questions during the webinar?
Yes. During the live webinar, you may submit questions and comments and the speaker will respond verbally. For a recorded webinar, your questions will be emailed to the speaker. You will typically receive a response from the speaker within two business days.
Can I attend using a tablet or smartphone?
Yes. You may attend a webinar using a computer, tablet or smartphone.
If I can’t attend a webinar live, can I view the recording later?

What is an on-demand webinar?
An on-demand webinar is a previously recorded webinar that you may view at any time after your purchase for up to 12 months.

Can I listen to recorded webinars on a tablet or smartphone?
Yes. You will be able to listen to any of our on-demand webinars on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Do the webinars qualify for Continuing Education Credit?

This was one of the worst webinars I’ve ever watched. Huge waste of time and money.
The speaker was extremely stiff and boring. He sounded like he was reading off a script, and spoke in a monotone, with stilted, overly formal language that sounded like a bad imitation of legalese. Horrible public speaker.
There was literally no new information in the presentation whatsoever. He said nothing at all that I didn’t already know. The speaker seemed to be very out of touch with new developments in firms. I felt like he was speaking to a baby boomer audience and didn’t understand changes in the legal market over the last 10 years or so. I also feel like all of the information was geared towards very large law firms. I have a small firm, and this information felt completely irrelevant to me.

Good speaker, but I would like to have had a little more empirical data to help quantify alternative compensation structures.

This was pretty much a waste of time. I am hopeful that the detailed resources that the speaker referenced as handouts for the presentation will be of some value because the slides and war stories were pitched so low as to assume that the audience had absolutely no experience with law firm compensation structures. No attention at all was paid to the progression of an attorney from the ranks of associate to the partnership. No attention was paid to the financial health of the firm as to what is the appropriate amount of the pie for partner distribution in the first place. SO many more issues than Origination Credit and a billable hour expectation could have been discussed but the speaker and the slides just kept hitting those two items + partner communication. This was so general and obvious that I am kicking myself for the time and money I allocated to it.

This was a great overview – what would have made this totally worthwhile would be a sample spreadsheet on how to do some of these calculations. There were a few good ideas that I hadn’t considered, but the level of discussion was too high for what I was hoping to get out of it.
