New Jersey Update

June 1, 2021

The last few weeks have seen seismic shifts in the COVID-19 workplace safety landscape. Below is a state-by-state summary of some of the most important changes (and continued requirements):

New Jersey Governor issued Executive Order No. 242, lifting the state’s mask mandate for indoor public spaces, effective May 28, 2021.

Effective June 4, 2021, the mask and social distancing mandate is lifted for indoor worksites that are not open to the public for fully vaccinated employees.

Employers may impose more restrictive requirements and may not retaliate against any individual who wears a mask.

Employers must continue to follow all other health and safety protocols outlined in Executive Order No. 192.
