On his first day in office, President Biden issued an Executive Order directing OSHA to provide updated COVID-19 workplace guidance. The Executive Order also directed OSHA to consider whether an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) is required to protect workers.
On January 29, OSHA issued updated COVID-19 workplace guidance to addressed several workplace safety topics. OSHA must issue the ETS by March 15 if it determines that it is needed to protect workers from COVID-19.
