The last few weeks have seen seismic shifts in the COVID-19 workplace safety landscape. Below is a state-by-state summary of some of the most important changes (and continued requirements):
On November 2, 2020, Governor Baker issued COVID-19 Order No. 54, and Order No. 55, both effective November 6, 2020. The Orders set forth stay-at-home and face covering mandates in Massachusetts.
Under the new face covering mandate, employees in Massachusetts must wear a face covering over the nose and mouth at all times in any public place. A face covering is required in these circumstances regardless of whether an employee can maintain social distancing.
Employees who do not work in public places must continue to wear a face covering when social distancing of six (6) feet is not possible, except where unsafe due to medical condition or disability.
