COVID-19 Safe Workplace training Update

Vermont Mandates COVID-19 Employee Training

According to an Executive Order issued by Vermont Governor Scott, “all employees, including those already working . . .  must complete, and employers must document, a training on mandatory health and safety requirements as provided by VOSHA, or another training program that meets or exceeds the VOSHA-provided standard.” The Orders also outline the workplace safety topics that must be covered in the training.

Although the Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Administration (VOSHA) has developed training materials, which consist of a 73-page PowerPoint presentation, the Executive Order specifically states provides that “employers may adopt another training program that meets or exceeds the VOSHA-provided standard . . . which shall not be less restrictive than those developed by VOSHA.”
