OSHA’s New Injury/Illness Reporting Requirements

May 5th, 2017 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM ET
Can't attend live? By registering, you will be able to view the course live, view a recording at any time for 12 months, or both.

This webinar will discuss OSHA’s latest reporting requirements, including upcoming changes laid out by the new White House administration. In May 2016, OSHA finalized its “Electronic Recordkeeping” rule requiring employers to electronically submit injury and illness data. In addition to the reporting requirements, the rule also includes new whistleblower protection laws protecting workers who report their injury or illness. In this webinar, you’ll learn how your organization can prepare for the new laws, as well as OSHA’s 2015 Severe Injury reporting requirements that are now in effect nationwide. Among other things, you’ll learn about:

  • Which employers are subject to data submission requirements, what forms to use, and when to submit the information
  • Which types of discipline will be viewed as violations of Sec. 11(c) of the OSHA Act, now incorporated into 29 CFR 1904.36
  • When you can test workers for drug and alcohol impairment post-accident
  • Which forms of safety incentive awards are now illegal
  • How you can be penalized for noncompliance with injury reporting requirements, drug testing provisions, discipline programs, and even safety incentive plans
