Intellectual Property Law for the General Practitioner – On-Demand

Original Recording Date: April 26th, 2017
Duration: 75 minutes

Business lawyers and commercial litigators often encounter trademark, copyright or patent issues on occasion but may not have this area of law as a practice focus. This webinar covers the basics of intellectual property, with a focus on current trends and hot topics that are likely to come across the desk of the practicing lawyer. Upon completion of the course, you’ll be able to answer questions such as:

  • What does a client need to know about names and marks opening a new business?
  • How do you advise a client who has an idea but needs to protect it before taking it to market?
  • What are the key considerations for a client in order to use videos or music on a Facebook business page to enhance social media presence?
  • What strategies can lawyers use to identify potential IP problems clients may have?
  • What practical techniques can lawyers employ to address IP issues when they arise?
