In September 2015, the US Justice Department issued the Yates Memo in which the Department underscored its intention to focus enforcement efforts on individuals involved in misconduct by corporations. The Yates Memo articulates six principles that are intended to govern enforcement actions. In this webinar, you will learn the key provisions of the Yates Memo and its impact on companies and employees. Among other things, the webinar will address questions such as:

  • When should companies consider whether employees need individual counsel in the context of internal investigations?
  • What steps should companies take with respect to individual wrongdoers to avoid serious prosecution?
  • How can individuals protect themselves from prosecution?
  • Whether Yates is anomalous or whether recent enforcement initiatives have reflected its principles?
